The Cellular & Molecular Biology (CMB) Program is UAB's preeminent biomedical training program with over 150 graduate students currently training under the tutelage of some of the world's most respected scientists and physicians. Each year the program accepts 30-40 new students who receive full financial support through the CMB program and its affiliated training grants.

The scientific breadth and depth of the CMB program is unrivaled providing many opportunities for truly innovative research that often translates bench discoveries to new medical treatments. With its diverse research opportunities and over 130 committed faculty members associated with the 4 sponsoring Departments (Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology & Neurobiology) and over 20 additional basic science and clinical departments, the CMB program unquestionably offers the perfect training opportunity!

[Foreign Applicants] The application deadline is January 15th for admittance into the Fall class.

[U.S. Applicants] Accelerated admission for early applicants starts in October with interviews and decisions as early as December.
